I Need Help On A Complete “up To This Day” Backup On A Laptop Not Having Backup File On C Drive Or Install Cd

Downloaded the backup file off of net to no avail, my computer uses XP Home, can’t retrieve backup from install disk, I have a full version of Nero, just need a complete backup of c drive with start(boot) disk when needed to use with up to date things if a new c drive needed to be installed.
