What Is The Best Way To Set Up A Large File Server With A Robust Backup Solution?
I am looking to set up a client with a file server with room to grow for about 5 years. They currently have a file server running Windows 2000 with 100GB of data.
I would like to set them up with 1TB of data storage or more. The catch is to set up a robust server with great performance and have a backup solution that doesn’t require 200 tapes and allows for easy offsite storage.
Their current backup first backs up data to a stand-alone server, and then duplicates that to a series of REV disks. If we went up to 1TB or more of data storage, we would need about 20 to 30 REV disks. This is a solution that just won’t work.
Any ideas?
